Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the LORD.” – Jeremiah 1:8
How often do we search for justice? We ask, “Why is this happening to me?” “Why am I being treated this way?” “This is not fair or just!” If our search for justice is unrelenting, we will start to focus on our own self-pity. This is sin.
Jesus informs us over and over to not look for justice in this world. Do not worry how we are treated, what we don’t have, or that life is not fair. He wants us to focus on the job He has us doing and where He puts us to do that job. Jesus has our back! He will guide our actions and protect us as long as we stay focused on Him.
I look back on a question posed to me during one of my deployments to the war in Iraq. One of my soldiers asked me, “Sir, what makes you so calm; why do you seem unworried about our situation?”
My answer was simple, and really the first thing that came to my mind: “I have Jesus.” Jesus provided the strength I need-ed to remain calm under pressure. He will do that for every-one who remains tied to Him and in His love. Jesus will rescue you from your perceived injustice. Let Him!
Prayer: Dear Jesus. Help me to know that You provide my strength, comfort and peace in a world filled with injustice!
