For I am sure that neither death nor life… nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 (ESV)
It seems in today’s day and age everyone is seeking the “good life,” but what is the good life? What is it everyone wants? For me I want my kids to have wonderful opportunities and people around them to support them. I want my kids to have a family and people to love them. Other things people seek are comfort, ease, and life without worry or suffering.
But according to King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 6, “Who knows what is good for man while he lives the few days of his vain life, which he passes like a shadow?” Our lives are like smoke from a candle; today we here and then gone. And so many of those days are in isolation and loneliness.
That’s why God gave us Christmas – to give us hope.
On Christmas Day, we remembered the precious gift of God’s only Son, Jesus. Jesus is the gift that changed the world, the gift that gives us all hope and a future. “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
Praise God there is nothing that will separate us from God’s love and favor. We can have perfect union with God. Rest in your oneness with Him!
Lord, I thank you for your goodness and mercy. I praise you for your gift of Jesus. I praise you for your love for me. God you are for me. God your love pursues me. Jesus is the exact representation of your heart for me. Jesus, you rescue me from myself and the troubles of this world. Jesus your gift of the Holy Spirit connects me with the God of the universe. Holy Spirit, unite me to God. Fill me to walk in the connection of your Love!
