“Who will bring any charge against (us)?”
Today we begin a bright and shiny new year that is full of potential. The old year has passed away, taking all our mistakes and blunders with it, and we head into a new horizon of hope and anticipation. Isn’t it wonderful to know that we get a new beginning each January? It is always a wonderful thing to get a fresh start.
Jesus is always willing to give us a new beginning, too. In Him we are always able to start over and try again. His grace is remarkable – and it is extended to everyone. Jesus died for us so that our sins could be forgiven and we can start again and again and again. We will never be perfect, but we will be forgiven.
What a wonderful way to begin again!
“Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Romans 8:34).
Almighty and everlasting God, from whom all good and perfect gifts come, we thank You for all the blessings of the past year, and we ask you for the fullness of Your blessing in the coming year, through Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one true God, now and forever. Amen.
