God fights for you

And the LORD said to Gideon, “With the 300 men… I will save you and give the Midianites into your hand.” – Judges 7:7

One of my all-time favorite movies is called Greater. This movie focuses on the life of Brandon Burlsworth. Burlsworth was the least-expected to make it far in football. He was overweight, sat on the bench for most of high school, and walked onto a Division 1 college. Everyone, including the coaches, considered Burlsworth as “just another walk-on.” But eventually, he was awarded All-American his senior year and went to the NFL to start.

Like Burlsworth, everyone viewed Gibeon as just another leader. He came from the weakest clan of Manasseh, was the youngest in his family, and went into his fight with only 300 men. People had every right to doubt Gibeon and his abilities. This is because, alone, Gibeon could not lead an army of 300 men to victory against an army of thousands. But he was not alone. God fought for him. God did not leave Gibeon on his own when he saw the size of his army, but fought the battle for him.

Our day-to-day lives feel like a constant battle. We all have our own struggles where we feel like we are going into battle with no armor and no army. But amazingly, Jesus came and already won the battle for us. So when you are lying in your bed wondering what has happened to your life, when you are fighting a hard medical diagnosis, or wondering how to keep the smile going every day, remember that God has won the battle, and you are His forever.

Prayer: Come, Lord Jesus, quickly. Many of us are waiting, and not one will be disappointed. As I go through the different struggles of life, please give me strength and remind me that You have already won this battle and I am yours forever. Thank You, Jesus.
