“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
Have you ever faced darkness? Real darkness? We live in a world of dark and evil. Sin surrounds us and waits at every turn. Evil in this world is real and Christians are instructed to fight this evil with all our might. But, as we fight, we are not alone. Those who believe in God and His Son Jesus have each other; we have the Word of God to guide us, and I think the most important is we have Jesus! God was true to His promise of a Savior when He sent Jesus.
Joshua 1:9 is the Bible verse that is the basis for the mission of the Charlie 22 Outdoors organization I work with. Our focus is on veterans who suffer with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) and suicidal tendencies. We want Veterans to know and under-stand that we fight the fight of darkness together, with the power of the hope we have in Jesus!
God is here with all of us if we believe and have faith in Him. We are reminded in Isaiah 41: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God is here for all of us. He will protect you and provide you strength through any time of darkness and evil that is attacking you. All you have to do is reach out to Him!
Prayer: Lord God Heavenly Father, please help me to reach out to You in times of darkness and when evil is surrounding me. Help me to feel the Hope that comes from knowing You and Your Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
