Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
– 1 Corinthians 11:1
“Follow Me” is a term used in our military, specifically in the US Army Infantry. This phased is used by Commanders and leaders as they lead their people forward into battle! Knowing that not all will mimic the leader exactly, each try their best to ensure the mission of the unit is successful.
Jesus tells us to “Follow Me”, as He leads us through our everyday struggles and challenges in this life on earth. We know and Jesus knows, that we cannot measure up, but we try our best. Sometimes even our best is lacking. Jesus understands, He picks us up, brushes us off and starts all over with us each time.
How do you follow Jesus and His leadership for us? Do you take time to pray? How about devotion time? Maybe just talking with Him through the day? These are good examples to ensure we can strengthen our defenses and know that Jesus will lead us through.
Where are you in your walk with Jesus? Wherever God has placed you at this time in your life, you are an example to all who meet you. Your actions say more about what you believe than your words could ever tell.
As you do your best to follow Jesus, others will take notice. Remember someone is always watching you – especially if you are a Christian and try to live a life full of Jesus. People will look at you and judge you on your actions. They will notice there is something different about you and try to figure it out. They may even ask why you are different. Just tell them “I have Jesus and my hope is in Him.” You just never know – the way you conduct yourself may be the only witness to Jesus some folks will ever receive!
Prayer:
Dear Jesus. Help me to follow You the best I can so others will see and be drawn to You!
