Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
– 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
As I studied these verses, the Word “gifts” stood out to me. God has given us many gifts, including spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are simply gifts from the Holy Spirit.
Spiritual gifts are given to us individually, but they are given to us to share with others. What good is a gift if you can’t share it?
Look at all the gifts granted to Jesus by the Holy Spirit which He shared with us. He gave us such good examples of service, ministry, teaching, miracles, and the most important gift of all – the forgiveness for our sins through His sacrifice on the cross.
The gifts Jesus gives were purchased by His sacrifice, and they provide us with great blessing and reward!
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for our spiritual gifts. Encourage us to use these gifts for your highest good. Amen.
