For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For… out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6:43-45
Co-workers spend a lot of time together. Think about it, you may be in their presence up to eight hours a day, five days a week, sometimes even longer if there is overtime. In the careers I have had, the people I work with can become good friends due to shared experiences and working through some really tough days.
I recall one of the people I came to know through my job. He started off as my supervisor and kind of a mentor. His name is Mike. Mike trained me when I first started. He was the guy I went to with any questions I had; he was the guy who could give advice on how to do my job. In the process, we became friends. Eventually, I worked my way through the ranks and we both became leaders in our workplace and held the same rank. We hung out together after work hours and even our families became close. To this day, even though Mike and I do not work together anymore, I consider Mike to be my brother.
God’s love for us goes beyond our human relationships. God sent Jesus into the world to make us heirs to His kingdom. Jesus died and rose from the dead taking away our sins. What an amazing gift! Without this gift we cannot begin to be a part of His family. Jesus takes us in and reveals His heart to us by making the ultimate sacrifice. He gave us everything! He is that mentor, leader, friend and brother. This enables us to show our heart to others and give what we have. We can give our all to Jesus because He gave His all to us!
Prayer
Gracious Father, we are so thankful that You revealed Your heart to us in Your Son, Jesus. May we always show our love to You and those around us.
